Corbett National Park In Uttarakhand is Located in the Ramganga Valley near the Himalayan foothills.it lies in the hilly district of Nainital,with the covering area of 1318.54 sq Km in which the Corbett National Park(520.82sq Km)Sonanadi Wildlife sanctuary Forest(301.18) and Kalagarh Reserve Forest (496.54sq Km) are include.it's a rich hunting ground which is firstly protected by Major Ramsey in 1858who banned farming and cattle grazing in the lower patlidun valley.After this,it got protection by forest department and declared a reserve forest.In1936,it became India's first national park,which was created by Malcolm hailey.In this park,ther is large population of wild tiger. this park is Home for around 580 bird species like Wagtail,Kingfisher,Parakeet,flycatcher,cuckoo,bulbul,heron,egrt etc;50 species like Indian Elephant, tiger, leopard, wild boar, jackal, ghoral,pada etc.ther are two main rivers:Ramganga River and Kosi River.Corbett has two tourist Zonees one is Bijran i Ramnagar. the entery for this is through Amdanda Gate.this gate is preferred for day visting and good for Wildlife tracking by jeep.Elephant Safari also starts from Bijrani forest rest house(FRH) in the morning or afternoon.Another one is Dhaikala,entry here is through Dhangari Gate.This gate is restricted to those who have permit to stay overnight in any one of the five FRHs.Dhikala is beautiful as well as great for wildlife Sighting.Elephant rides are also available here.This park is popular for tigers and the best time for tiger spotting is in april to mind june.Traveling inside the park by jeep provides you the best chance to see tiger.There is some good place to see is Corbett Museum which is just half way between park and nainital.It's a place where jim Corbett used to leave and now it's a museum.Natinital is another place to see;it's known for its lakes with beautiful and delightful for it lakes wit beautiful.
