Located in Worcestershire you will find Bromsgrove. Only a little slightly over ten miles to the north is Worcester, while heading the other way will take you to Birmingham. Thought to have been around since the earlier part of the ninth century. Though at that time it was known as different names.
Before 1086 it is thought that Bromsgrove was home to three mills, a chief manor and even a priest. During the times through the years it was economically based on not only hunting, but farming, and even wool trade later on.
Once located in Bromsgrove you would have found the Bromsgrove Guild. Widely known for their fine work on gates that are at the palace, plus many other spots too. After the railway came into the area in 1841, there would also be a maintenance facility placed up. It was a great way that many people were able to find jobs.
Some really interesting things to find in town include Grafton Manor. Dating all the way back to the thirteenth century, and thought that there might have been some involvement in the gunpowder plot.
Also check out the Alfred Edward Housman statue located on High Street. Also a couple others of these sculptures are located along high street. Including that of a boar and a dryad. During the thirteenth century there would be a lot of restoration done to the St John the Baptist Church.
While in town don't forget to check out Avoncroft Museum of Buildings. Also many other activities are available to keep you busy. Including parks and pubs, and other things to do, even theaters for a bit of night entertainment.
