The following article contains basic self defense tactics and knowledge giving you the skills and ability to stay alive and protect yourself when attacked. Follow the five simple self defence tactics I have listed below and learn to incorporate them into your martial arts training too.
Basic self defense tactics #1 - If you are physically smaller then your attacker try using eye gouges to your attackers eyes instead of punching him with your counter attacking techniques. Different self defense techniques like Krav Maga and others show you this technique and it works very well so use it!
Basic self defense tactics #2 - Be training in a martial arts that uses the self defense tactics you may have already. You want to be able to blend and use different styles of combat and street fighting into your collection of training methods. You want to know the moves work and you want to know how to do them properly in the middle of a stressful situation.
Basic self defense tactics #3 - Some of the best tactics and training you can get from traditional styles of martial arts come from: Kickboxing, Brazilian Jiujutsu, Judo, Full Contact Karate, and phillipino styles! You want to broaden your horizens with your street fighting moves to give you the best advantage to your fighting skills when you will need them in real life.
Basic self defense tactics #4 - A big basic comment here is to stay healthy and be active at all times. Monitor your weight and eat healthy foods. Incorporate daily exercise into your routine. Being physically active will give you a much greater advantage in a life or death street battle then being weaker and out of shape.
Basic self defense tactics #5 - My final bit of knowledge is to live passively. Don't go looking for trouble or trying to start or get into fights. If anything the best place to fight is inside the dojo, so avoid confrontation when you can. It could easily save your life.
Those are five basic self defense training facts you should incorporate into your training starting today. I have fought for most of my life behind prison bars, and in nightclubs as a bouncer. The stuff I have just taught you is the real deal when it comes to self defense and martial arts training. Always do your best to be the best protector you can be!
