On your fishing trips we all know it is accentual to bring your pocket knife along to retie your fishing line or clean your fish in the field to prepare for cooking. Some folding knives also come with a gut hook on the blade, which can also be used in the field and works very well on white tail deer and other big game while gutting your animal in the field. For camping and hiking I would also recommend the folding knives as they are easier to carry and don't take up a lot of room to carry along on your journey into the great outdoors. Also look at handle material and decide weather you per fer a wood handle or rubber grip, some knives also come in a stag onlay which has a very good grip also. Being confident in your knife will make your outdoor adventure that much more enjoyable.
