Rangefinders for Hunting - Hobbies

Hunting has long been one of the most popular outdoor recreations in many areas of the world, and many people in the U.S. spend thousands of dollars every year on the best rifles, accessories, and gear, as well as obtaining the permits needed to hunt. It is an important part of hunting to get the best gear you can, and having everything you need will help you be the best hunter you can be.

An important part of your hunting gear is your rangefinder for hunting, and it is a tool that will help you hunt more effectively. The hunting rangefinder uses a laser pointer to help you gauge the distance between you and your target, which helps you to accurately hit your target. There are three parts to the rangefinder lenses that help you estimate the distance:

-The viewfinder is the part that you look into

-The main lens gathers the light that enables the rangefinder to focus on the target

-The overlay lens which depicts the target in the viewfinder to enable you to pinpoint it

The hunting rangefinder uses a laser to gauge the distance to your target. Pressing the button on the rangefinder sends the laser towards your target, and when the laser is bounced back by the target into your main lens the rangefinder calculates and presents the estimated distance. Hard objects such as trees, the earth, and rocks reflect the laser better than soft targets like animals and bushes, so you can use a hard item near your target to obtain a nearly accurate range more easily.

There are a number of types of rangefinders for hunting:

-Archery rangefinders are designed for those who prefer to use longbows or crossbows to hunt their prey, and are designed to help the archer compensate for the distance by estimating the angle and trajectory the arrow will need to be shot at. There are some ultra modern rangefinders that can actually be mounted to the bow, but these are not legal in every state.

-Dual purpose rangefinders are rangefinders that can be used for both bows and rifles. These dual purpose hunting rangefinders are able to make the calculations that both the bow and rifle use, but have features that are specific to each type of hunting weapon.

-Rifle rangefinders are designed to be used exclusively with rifles, and are often designed to be mounted on the rifle like a scope. A number of these rifle rangefinders are easily able to gauge the distance, yet they lack the ability to gauge the angle to compensate for. However, they are excellent tools to use when hunting with a rifle, as they come in both scope and binocular models.

The average pair of binoculars with rangefinder technology integrated into them can run between $700 and $3000, depending on the quality of the pair you want to purchase. A rifle scope with rangefinding technology will cost about the same, but is an excellent investment for anyone who loves to hunt.
