Know the Traits and Breeds of the Dog before you Adopt Them - Family - Pets

To have a pet dog is not an easy decision within the family. Before anybody can adopt a dog, they must consider many factors such as their budget, their space in the houses, their financial stability, their patience, their lifestyle and many more. To have a dog can be associated in having another part of the family just like when you have a new brother or sister. It is a must that you give their most basic need as well as health-related needs and sociological needs. It is also vital for the family to pick the best breed that is okay for everybody.

It is extremely beneficial for anybody to choose the dog breed that they like before they adopt a dog. If your rush in to a pet shop without thinking first what breed is applicable to you and your family, you might end up adopting a dog that you cannot even take care because they are too aggressive or they have behavioral problems. The very first on our list are the Chihuahuas. Chihuahuas love to play and have a short walk in the park or the garden. During the early times, a Chihuahua is only the pet of those that are in the upper class but today, almost anyone can adopt a Chihuahua as their pet. Since they are so small, many people find them to be extremely cuddly. Chihuahuas originated in Mexico. Although many dog owners prefer to have Chihuahuas because of their small feature, they are just concerned on their health because most Chihuahua has tracheal problems or eye concern.

The Greyhound has a tall and athletic figure, and for that, they are considered the fastest breed among all other dog breeds. Greyhounds are used for hunting boars, deer and wolves because they the capability to hunt smaller animals using their instinct. During the early times, they are merely used for hunting but nowadays they are also adopted as a pet at home. Aside from Greyhound, we also have the Boxer. Boxers are used for baiting bulls and fighting because they are extremely aggressive and active.

There is also another breed that is often associated with the Greyhound, and it is called the Whippet. They are the smaller version, and they are often used as a vermin or a mouser. Whippets have a friendly attitude towards their owner. We also have the Brussels Griffon. In some areas, they call them Belgian Griffon, Griffon Belge and Griffon Bruxellois. The small physique made them as a mouser. Many people who also love to hunt adopted the English Springer Spaniel. This dog breed is highly skilled in hunting.

Another breed is the Alaskan Malamute that can only be found on cold region of the Earth. In the Arctic, the Alaskan Malamute are working dogs that carry sleds that have heavy loads. Since it is considered one of the means of manual transportation, the Alaskan Malamute can travel long distance pulling those sleds. They can survive the extreme temperature because their coat is coarse and thick. If you are after the smartness of the dog, you can try to adopt a Fox Terrier because they are easy to be trained.

In summary, there are still more dog breeds out there, so before you rush in to adopt one, consider reading some information about the breed the you like and se whether you can afford to have them or not.
