In shock and denial over his Marine father's death in Iraq, high school lacrosse star, Conor Sullivan (Kellan Lutz), starts acting out in self-destructive ways until he's kicked off the team and sent to a wilderness lacrosse camp run by his Dad's Native American combat buddy, Sgt. Major Duke Wayne (Adam Beach). Strengthened by the love and support from his girlfriend Brooklyn (Ashley Greene), Conor embraces the game's Native American roots and opens his eyes to the true meaning of sportsmanship and life.Watch A Warrior's Heart movie 2011Fans may recognize the chiseled Kellan Lutz and stunning Ashley Greene from their respective roles as Emmett and Alice Cullen in "The Twilight Saga," but before they became famous for gracing the screen as vampire brother and sister, Kellan and Ashley co-starred in a very different onscreen relationship.
The duo filmed the movie "A Warrior's Heart" in 2009, and while it boasts a modest PG rating, the movie - which will finally be released on December 2 - also boasts plenty of kissing scenes between Kellan and Ashley that will have Twi-Hards reeling. "It's not clich, where the kid wins the championship at the buzzer," Kellan said in an on set interview. "It's a coming-of-age story about a boy and his journey to become a man. It was also a first for Kellan, who got to take on the role of the project's leading man. "I've never been number one on a call sheet," Kellan continued in the interview. "I've been 781326142[but] in this project, I'm in every single scene. I'm never in my trailer, which I'm not used to!" omewhere in between fighting the Volturi and hunting rabbits, the Cullen siblings, Kellan Lutz and Ashley Greene, stepped out of their vampire roles and starred in a very different type of movie.
A new trailer for the drama "A Warrior's Heart" has found its way online, and it's definitely a swoonworthy clip; dark and brooding Kellan plays hot-shot lacrosse star Conor Sullivan, who is spiraling out of control after the death of his Marine father. But by his side (and on his lips) is cheerleader Brooklyn (played by Ashley), who isn't giving up on him. Based on the trailer, the movie looks like a heart-wrenching tale of Conor's struggle to learn the meaning of maturity, sportsmanship and manhood under the mentorship of his dad's old combat buddy. And before this film sounds too somber and serious, we should probably mention there's a surprise in store for you, Gleeks! Chord Overstreet stars as a friend of Conor's. And he *may* take his shirt off. Just sayin'.

In shock and denial over his Marine father's death in Iraq, a maverick high school lacrosse player, Conor Sullivan (Kellan Lutz), starts acting out in self-destructive ways. When he's kicked off the team and spirals out of control, his Dad's Native American combat buddy, Sgt. Major Duke Wayne (Adam Beach) takes him under his wing and has him attend a wilderness Lacrosse camp. Pushed and guided by the love and support from his girlfriend Brooklyn (Ashley Greene), Conor embraces the Native American roots of Lacrosse and opens his eyes to the true meaning of sportsmanship. Ashley Greene fans, be warned: Despite her narration, and the fact that she is the focus of the first 30-odd seconds of A Warrior's Heart's trailer, this is Kellan Lutz' movie. Scratch that -- this is shirtless Kellan Lutz' movie. "This is a story about the guy I fell for," Greene explains. "But to really understand why, you have to know a little bit about the game he loves."
Lutz' story, which was graciously shared by Vulture, is a spectacular voyage of high school self-discovery facilitated by the centuries-old game of lacrosse. Naturally, Lutz hits some roadblocks on this voyage. In the trailer alone we see Lutz in jail, Lutz smashing things, Lutz mourning his dead father, Lutz battling with a shirtless Chord Overstreet, and Lutz being carted off to some clothing-optional "work camp" that specializes in grueling manual labor and lacrosse. You know, typical senior year activities. At some point he probably falls in love with Ashley Greene, but this is not covered.
