At times you might be busy or not in office premises. Meanwhile, you might not be able attend important calls. In order to receive these calls, you can activate Hunt Group service on your 0800 numbers. When the first phone line in your list is busy or there is no answer, then after few rings call will automatically be routed to the next phone line in your hunt group list. Hunt Groups are regarded as one of the most powerful 0800 numbers call management features. This service provides users the facility of allowing them to route their calls through to multiple fixed line, mobile, or international numbers.
How does Hunt Group works?
A hunt group automatically search and diverts calls from a busy line and to a free line from amongst a group of extensions. Each extension will be tried until a free extension is connected. Extensions will be skipped if the person is currently on the phone or has marked their extension as blocked from hunting.
Hunt groups may be searched either sequentially or round robin style. In sequential style, hunt always starts with the first extension in the list, and works down. Whereas in round robin hunt distributes the calls evenly amongst the members of the group by rotating the group member whose extension is tried first, then searching down the list in sequential order.
If used properly, a Hunt Group ensures that you never miss an inbound call again. With the ability to specify up to four destination numbers, you can decide the order in which your destination numbers should ring and how long that they should ring for. In worst case, if call cannot be diverted to any of your destination numbers, then call can be routed to other 0800 numbers features such as a Voice Mailbox, Call Queue or an IVR Menu.
