When a sign is posted saying: dogs for sale who doesnt want to take a look? There are lots of reasons why these animals are considered mans and womans best friend. While every breed has certain inherent qualities based on their genetic makeup, there are some commonalities that run through the entire species. Some breeds may be large while others are tiny; some are hyper while others are calm; and some are reportedly more into their people than others. But the common thread that runs through all of these animals are comprised of 10 of their best qualities:
1) Loyal: If only humans were as loyal as dogs. These creatures loyalty runs deep and is constant. If spouses were this loyal, the divorce rate would drop.
2) Unconditional love: It doesnt matter if a person is cranky, ugly, smelly or forgetful. Their pet, Rover, will love them all the same. While people strive to love unconditionally, they are only in the Unconditional Love 101 class while Fido has already received his degree.
3) Exercise us: Rover, Fido and Spot all need to be walked every day. If they dont get their daily walks in, there will likely be chewed-up shoes and geraniums to pay. Their masters get in better physical shape because they must, rain or shine, get out the leashes and the plastic bags and take them for their daily strolls. How many pounds of excess weight have been shed because of this mandatory exercise?
4) Always happy: If only people could have such constant enthusiasm for the mundane. Going for a walk, seeing their master return from work, being fed or going for a ride in the car brings regular tail wags and grins from floppy ear to floppy ear.
5) Will eat anything: Leftovers, dry kibble, something dried up under the couch and questionable items in the road yum, yum! These guys are not picky eaters.
6) Intuitive: Our dogs know us better than we know ourselves. Psychologists have learned that our canine pets are able to read our moods and body language very well, especially after theyve emotionally bonded with us.
7) Protective: Who needs a burglar alarm? No one could get six feet from our front doors without the bark-bark-bark alarms going off. Robbers would much rather seek out homes to plunder with cats than those armed with a German shepherd or even a beagle. Those teeth hurt no matter what the breed may be.
8) Natural pest control: Who needs chemical bug repellents? Many pups will take great pleasure in hunting down and devouring any bug, mouse or prairie dog foolish enough to enter their home or yard.
9) Good for immune system: Studies have shown that humans who live with a beloved dog will have better health. Nothing like a positive and nonjudgmental roommate to keep a person healthy.
10) Companionship: Want a friend who doesnt complain, judge your faults or get mad at you for coming home late? Your best bet is a puppy or adult hound.
