How to Hunt the Elusive Huge Bucks - Outdoors

At some time during my deer hunting "career" I grew weary of hunting normal sized bucks and developed an interest in shooting trophy bucks only. Let me share some advanced deer hunting tips about the differences between hunting regular deer and true monster bucks.

There was a considerable learning curve involved in changing my hunting tactics from the good buck to the monster buck, but I searched out all the deer hunting tips I could muster from the most successful deer hunters in the country. I discovered that the deer hunting tactics when after the average deer do not necessarily follow to the hunt for the more elusive, hugely antlered mature bucks. After a lot of hit and miss, I discovered the true secrets to locating the great deer, and my productivity has grown from year to year.

Is your overall hunting area populated with big bucks? Most of the larger bucks are excellent at hiding and aren't discovered. However, don't just give up on an area simply because other people haven't seen big bucks there, as they may be missing something. Still, they're not everywhere, and certain areas definitely see more giant racked deer than others. To give yourself the opportunity of taking one of these shy creatures, you must take your deer hunting to where the big deer are. It's often frustrating to learn that many areas won't have any big bucks at all, least of all one you can find. There are particular circumstances that result in a higher number of large bucks in any given area.

Just ask some people who are in the know in order to find out, once and for all, where the big bucks are in your area. Ask around with all the career hunters and game wardens in your area; even ranchers and farmers can help you, as can feed store owners, to tell you where sightings of big deer have been made, so you may know where to go. Even the local coffee shop or diner can be a place to find information on local deer population. Your objective is to see if there are any large bucks locally, and where most of them have been sighted. Just ask about the sightings of extremely large bucks instead of overall population count. You won't get anywhere finding a large population of average sized deer. What we're looking for is that monster buck. Talk to other hunters in your area if you're already committed to one specific hunting ground and find out which stands or blinds are best to find the largest bucks, and ask others about their specific experiences. You'll be set startin g with this strategy. However, you can be led astray with false or outdated information, so make sure you can be as sure as possible of the information.

We hope that you use these deer hunting tips and techniques during deer hunting season to enjoy help you locate the true monster bucks.
