How To Conceal Your Hunting Stand From Deer? - Outdoors - Hunting

White tail deer hunting is a fun-filled and thrilling sport. Generally white tail hunts is done using either from ground level or from deer hunting stands. However the metallic tree stands can terrify deer, and cause them to run away from your food plots. Hence skilled hunters camouflage their deer hunting stands to maximize chances for a kill. Given below are 3 helpful ways to disguise your tree stand.

a. The ideal way to camouflage hunting stands can be done by using natural foliage. Collect fallen braches with many leaves from around the hunting tree. Then capably fasten these branches to the stand at nearly 10 to 15 feet above the tree base. You can either weave the branches through the seat and railing or use zip ties. This will hide the unnatural lines and metallic finish of the hunting stand; and make it look like a tree part. Don't forget to examine the stand from below and make changes, if required.

b. Camouflage wrap is also used by hunters to obscure their hunting stand, and thereby increase their chances of killing white tail bucks. Using wraps is the best way to cover the sections of metal in your deer hunting stand. Moreover camouflage wraps are readily available in the market. Just unfold wrap and start covering it all around your hunting stand. To secure either stow the remaining wrap between the tree and the stand strap or use plastic zip ties. If the wrap is not tightly fastened, don't worry as this look is more "au naturel"! Finally observe from ground and make necessary changes.

c. Spray paint technique is the most simple and popular way to camouflage deer hunting stands. Spray paint brown color on your stands particularly on the underside. After this, spray small swatches of green paint on the underside and bars of your seat, to make it look like leaves. The tree stand should then be left to completely dry off for a week. You can also rub dirt on your hunting stand to fasten the drying process, but only after the paint has dried. Drying of the hunting stands is important as deer can easily smell fresh paint.
